FieldTime is the time-tracking and timesheet management platform built specifically for professional-services firms in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC). From the punch clock on a jobsite to payroll export in Deltek Vantagepoint, FieldTime handles every step of the time-entry workflow — so your teams spend less time on paperwork and more time delivering projects.

What Is FieldTime?

FieldTime is a cloud-based SaaS application that connects field crews, project managers, supervisors, and payroll staff on a single time-tracking platform. Employees clock in and out in real time using the punch clock (or enter hours manually if they are salaried exempt), while supervisors and project managers review and approve timesheets before payroll processes them. When a timesheet is fully approved, FieldTime pushes the data directly into Deltek Vantagepoint — eliminating double-entry and reducing the risk of transcription errors. Whether your team works in an office, on a construction site, or across multiple project locations, FieldTime gives every stakeholder the visibility they need through role-based dashboards tailored to their responsibilities.

Key Capabilities

Punch Clock & Manual Entry

Non-exempt employees clock in and out with a single tap. Salaried exempt staff enter daily hours manually. Both flows capture project, phase, task, and labor classification for precise job costing.

Timesheet Approval Workflow

Timesheets move through a structured approval chain — project manager, then supervisor, then payroll — with full audit trails, revision requests, and comment threads at every step.

Deltek Vantagepoint Integration

Approved timesheets sync automatically into Vantagepoint. Project codes, phases, tasks, and employee data are pulled from Vantagepoint so FieldTime always reflects your source-of-truth ERP.

Compliance & Overtime Tracking

FieldTime monitors meal-break rules, prevailing wage classifications, and overtime thresholds. Compliance findings surface automatically so supervisors can correct issues before payroll closes.

Mobile PWA

A progressive web app (PWA) lets field employees clock in from any smartphone without installing a native app. NFC-tag clock-in is also supported for fixed jobsite locations.

Reports & Premium Ledger

Payroll and admins can pull weekly summaries, premium-pay ledgers, and edit-spot-check reports to verify hours, audit changes, and support billing reconciliation.

How It Connects to Vantagepoint

FieldTime uses a live, bidirectional sync with your Deltek Vantagepoint instance.
  • Inbound (Vantagepoint → FieldTime): Employee records, project codes, phases, tasks, labor classifications, and organizational structures are imported from Vantagepoint. When you add a new project or hire an employee in Vantagepoint, FieldTime picks up the change on the next scheduled sync.
  • Outbound (FieldTime → Vantagepoint): Once a timesheet completes the full approval chain, FieldTime exports the approved entries back to Vantagepoint in the format Vantagepoint expects. Admins can also trigger batch exports or re-export individual timesheets from the Admin Panel.
Vantagepoint credentials are stored encrypted using your firm’s secret key and are never exposed to client browsers. Contact your FieldTime administrator to configure or update the Vantagepoint connection.
