Favorite Projects are saved shortcuts that store a complete time-entry assignment — project, phase, task, and labor classification — under a name you choose. Instead of navigating four dropdowns every time you start a shift or log hours, you tap a single favorite and all fields fill in for you. They are especially useful on busy job sites where you rotate between the same two or three assignments every week.
Create one favorite per regular job site assignment so clocking in takes one tap. A name like “Site A – Inspection” or “Admin – Training” makes it easy to spot the right one at a glance.

What a Favorite Stores

Each favorite saves:
FieldRequired
Favorite name (your label)Yes
ProjectYes
PhaseYes, if the project has phases
TaskYes, if the phase has tasks
Labor ClassificationYes
Notes (optional reminder for yourself)No
If a project, phase, task, or classification you saved is later deactivated by your administrator, FieldTime marks the favorite as Unavailable with a red badge explaining the reason. You will need to update the favorite before it can be used again.

Adding a Favorite

1

Open Favorite Projects

Navigate to Favorite Projects in the main menu. The page lists all your current favorites in a searchable table.
2

Tap Create Favorite

Click the Create Favorite button in the top-right corner. A slide-out panel opens on the right.
3

Give it a name

Enter a descriptive Favorite Name — this is what you’ll see in the quick-select list when clocking in or logging hours (up to 100 characters).
4

Choose project, phase, and task

Select your Project from the dropdown. If the project has phases, a Phase dropdown appears automatically. If the selected phase has tasks, a Task dropdown appears next. Only projects assigned to you are shown.
5

Pick a labor classification

Select your Labor Classification. The dropdown is scoped to classifications permitted on the selected project — the same set you’d see on the Punch Clock or Manual Entry form.
6

Add notes (optional)

Use the Notes field for any reminder you want to attach — for example, a contract number or a note about when to use this favorite.
7

Save

Click Save Favorite. The new favorite appears in the table immediately.

Using a Favorite to Clock In or Log Hours

After tapping Clock In, the assignment form that appears in the active-shift banner includes a Favorites selector. Choose your favorite from the list — the Project, Phase, Task, and Labor Classification fields fill in automatically. Tap Confirm Assignment to lock in the selection and start tracking time against that project.

Managing Your Favorites

All your favorites are listed in the Favorite Projects table, which supports full-text search across name, project code, project name, phase, task, classification, and notes.

Edit a favorite

Click the pencil icon on any row to reopen the slide-out panel with the saved values pre-filled. Change any field and click Save Favorite to update it. You might do this if you are reassigned to a different phase of the same project.

Delete a favorite

Click the trash icon on any row. A confirmation prompt appears before the favorite is permanently removed. Deleting a favorite has no effect on any time entries that were previously created using it.
You can have as many favorites as you need, and the search bar makes it easy to find the right one even with a long list.
